Paul Boakye was a graduate student in the lab from 2009 to fall of 
2011.While in the lab he worked on the anti-diarrheal effects of Garcinia buchananii. Currently he works with Dr.Peter Smith in the Centre of Neuroscience at the University of Alberta.His research is currently focused on elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the actions of Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor in increasing input to excitatory neurons and decreasing synaptic input to inhibitory neurons during peripheral nerve injury.
